Happy Hour and Dessert in Capitol Hill

Happy Hour Street Tacos with Carne Asada and a Miami Vice from Poquitos.  Poquitos is located in Capitol Hill and they're serving up authentic Mexican cuisine and cocktails. Their happy hour deal is a good one- during Ocho hour, everything on the happy hour menu is just $8! I went with a Miami Vice, a classic Pina Colada with Strawberry. This blended cocktail was so fruity and delicious. To eat I had two Carne Asada Street Tacos and a Birria Poquitos Burrito. The Burrito was small and served with a side of Consommé sauce. Both food items were tasty and satisfying.  My husband also had some Street Tacos and a Margarita from the happy hour menu. My sons had a Cheese Quesadilla and beans and rice. Everyone enjoyed their dinner. I first visited Poquitos in 2012, also for happy hour, and I remembered liking it then, too. A Visit to Queen Elizabeth Park in Vancouver

Our final activity in Vancouver was a visit to Queen Elizabeth Park. We went there for the views of Vancouver and we weren't disappointed. I was a little disappointed though that there wasn't a playground for the boys but they had a good time walking around. There were trails and a lot of flowers this time of year. The park is the highest viewpoint in the city and is way worth a visit. Its always fun getting away from the business of the downtown area and then seeing it all from above. The day wasn't really clear so I'd imagine it would be even prettier on a really sunny day. If you're looking to dine with a view, check out the restaurant Seasons In The Park. The Bloedel Conservatory is the place if you like indoor tropical gardens. We enjoyed the fountains by the entrance to the park. And of course, don't forget about the statues of the people posing for a photo and the one of the guy taking their photo. The best view of Vancouver is behind them.

If you're interested in visiting, you can read more about the park here.

After hanging out at the park, we grabbed some sandwiches from the nearby Safeway and started back to Seattle. Our adventure in Vancouver, BC was over, but I know we'll be back again!
