Happy Hour and Dessert in Capitol Hill

Happy Hour Street Tacos with Carne Asada and a Miami Vice from Poquitos.  Poquitos is located in Capitol Hill and they're serving up authentic Mexican cuisine and cocktails. Their happy hour deal is a good one- during Ocho hour, everything on the happy hour menu is just $8! I went with a Miami Vice, a classic Pina Colada with Strawberry. This blended cocktail was so fruity and delicious. To eat I had two Carne Asada Street Tacos and a Birria Poquitos Burrito. The Burrito was small and served with a side of Consommé sauce. Both food items were tasty and satisfying.  My husband also had some Street Tacos and a Margarita from the happy hour menu. My sons had a Cheese Quesadilla and beans and rice. Everyone enjoyed their dinner. I first visited Poquitos in 2012, also for happy hour, and I remembered liking it then, too. King Donuts

Ever been to a place where you could eat Asian food, grub on donuts, and do your laundry? Such a place does exist and you'll find it at King Donuts on Rainer Ave in South Seattle. As for donuts, they've got their game down. If you're hungry, grab a donut to snack on before your food arrives. The display of donuts grabs your attention right away and they're hard to resist. I tried a Chocolate Old Fashioned and it was perfect. Crunchy on the edges with the right amount of chocolate. My sons had a maple bar and a donut with chocolate icing and sprinkles. For our lunch, we tried some Chicken Pad Thai and Chicken Teriyaki. This is the restaurant that almost wasn't anymore. The previous owners were planning on selling and they were going to close for good. Then some new owners swept in and re-opened, and now King Donuts lives on.
