Happy Hour and Dessert in Capitol Hill

Happy Hour Street Tacos with Carne Asada and a Miami Vice from Poquitos.  Poquitos is located in Capitol Hill and they're serving up authentic Mexican cuisine and cocktails. Their happy hour deal is a good one- during Ocho hour, everything on the happy hour menu is just $8! I went with a Miami Vice, a classic Pina Colada with Strawberry. Homemade Toffee Doodle Cookies

These Toffee Doodles are cookie magic.

Our love for Snicker Doodles runs strong and my boys and I loved the Toffee Doodles from Starbucks. Sadly they no longer have them, so what's a person to do? Make your own, of course! I found a recipe from here and got to work baking in the kitchen.

These cookies are just like Snicker Doodles but they have toffee bits. The recipe uses Heath English Toffee Bits which you can find in the baking section. Mine turned out pretty similar to the Starbucks cookies but only smaller and thicker. But let's be honest, do you want a container of cookies as big as your head in your house? That may be a disaster for your waistline.

I always enjoyed the classic Snicker Doodle, but the toffee bits make it even more sweeter and satisfying.
