Happy Hour and Dessert in Capitol Hill

Happy Hour Street Tacos with Carne Asada and a Miami Vice from Poquitos.  Poquitos is located in Capitol Hill and they're serving up authentic Mexican cuisine and cocktails. Their happy hour deal is a good one- during Ocho hour, everything on the happy hour menu is just $8! I went with a Miami Vice, a classic Pina Colada with Strawberry. This blended cocktail was so fruity and delicious. To eat I had two Carne Asada Street Tacos and a Birria Poquitos Burrito. The Burrito was small and served with a side of Consommé sauce. Both food items were tasty and satisfying.  My husband also had some Street Tacos and a Margarita from the happy hour menu. My sons had a Cheese Quesadilla and beans and rice. Everyone enjoyed their dinner. I first visited Poquitos in 2012, also for happy hour, and I remembered liking it then, too. It was time for a meal there again.  For dessert, we walked about ten minutes west to  Voodoo Doughnut . The Seattle location opened late last ye...

Lunch at Feast Buffet

If buffets are your thing then you've gotta check out Feast Buffet in Renton, WA.  But go at lunch because for $15.99 you can eat like a king.  The variety of foods were so impressive I couldn't keep from taking photos of everything.  I had fun shooting all of the foods and getting this post together.  Funny how something as simple as going out to lunch at a buffet and taking photos can lift my spirits so much and inspire me.  Guess I'm easy to make happy.  Oh, and they have a chocolate fountain and really, how can that not make you happy.  There's something so festive about dipping a cookie or marshmallow into a chocolate fountain.  Plus they have a white and dark chocolate sculpture so you can make your own shavings for your dessert.

This is the place for all kinds of Asian foods.  And you don't have to choose between what type.  There was dim sum, sushi, poke, a noodle area, Chinese food like Sesame Chicken, Broccoli Beef, and fried rice.  They have a salad bar, American style meats, macaroni salad, cheese pizza, and a section just for breads and rolls.  There was plenty of seafood to choose from, too, and even a stir fry section.

The space was large with plenty of seating.  There was a banquet room where we sat and then seating around the buffet area.  The dessert section was huge and wrapped around making its own island in the center of the room.  Yep, my kind of place.  Along with the chocolate fountain, there was a cotton candy machine, popcorn machine, fresh fruits, candy, ice cream, pieces of cake, brownies, cookies, bubble waffles, and more.  We left full and satisfied for sure!
