Happy Hour and Dessert in Capitol Hill

Happy Hour Street Tacos with Carne Asada and a Miami Vice from Poquitos.  Poquitos is located in Capitol Hill and they're serving up authentic Mexican cuisine and cocktails. Their happy hour deal is a good one- during Ocho hour, everything on the happy hour menu is just $8! I went with a Miami Vice, a classic Pina Colada with Strawberry. This blended cocktail was so fruity and delicious. To eat I had two Carne Asada Street Tacos and a Birria Poquitos Burrito. The Burrito was small and served with a side of Consommé sauce. Both food items were tasty and satisfying.  My husband also had some Street Tacos and a Margarita from the happy hour menu. My sons had a Cheese Quesadilla and beans and rice. Everyone enjoyed their dinner. I first visited Poquitos in 2012, also for happy hour, and I remembered liking it then, too. Pizzeria Antico

No visit to Whistler is complete without pizza and wine and at Pizzeria Antico, we found just that.  Looking at the website beforehand, the wine and beer flights caught my eye as something fun to try.  Plus, their pizza looked good and they had a Carne pizza.  All good for me!  I was impressed by the interior and liked the large Pizzeria sign above the open kitchen.  The servers were really great, laid back, friendly, and accommodating.  I tried the red wine flights, three wines from BC, and my husband had the beer flights.  I enjoyed trying the three reds and could taste how distinctive they were.  The four of us shared the Arancini rice balls for an appetizer which had a tomato meat sauce.  Then we ordered two pizzas.   One was the Carne Pizza which had tomato sauce, prosciutto cotto, pepperoni, house made sausage, grana padano, and fior di latte.  The second was the Caprese Pizza, which had tomato sauce, fior di latte, grana padano, cherry tomatoes, thyme, basil, oregano and balsamic.  We had leftovers and finished it the next day for breakfast!
