Happy Hour and Dessert in Capitol Hill

  Happy Hour Street Tacos with Carne Asada and a Miami Vice from Poquitos.  Poquitos is located in Capitol Hill and they're serving up authentic Mexican cuisine and cocktails. Their happy hour deal is a good one- during Ocho hour, everything on the happy hour menu is just $8! I went with a Miami Vice, a classic Pina Colada with Strawberry. This blended cocktail was so fruity and delicious. To eat I had two Carne Asada Street Tacos and a Birria Poquitos Burrito. The Burrito was small and served with a side of Consommé sauce. Both food items were tasty and satisfying.  My husband also had some Street Tacos and a Margarita from the happy hour menu. My sons had a Cheese Quesadilla and beans and rice. Everyone enjoyed their dinner. I first visited Poquitos in 2012, also for happy hour, and I remembered liking it then, too. Bigfork, Montana: Pocketstone Cafe and Sweet Peaks Ice Cream

Bigfork is about twenty miles southeast of Columbia Falls and is on Flathead Lake, the largest freshwater lake west of the Mississippi.  I've always loved Bigfork Village, a downtown area with a Playhouse Theater, gift shops, galleries and restaurants.  We had lunch at Pocketstone Café, a bustling restaurant that's open for breakfast and lunch.  Not many places were open for lunch so there was a twenty minute wait for the four of us.  They were having an off day and gave me the wrong order.  Instead of steak, I got chicken strips.  But my boy's pancakes were decent and my husband's chicken fried steak was a generous portion and served with thick slices of homemade bread.  I would have complained about my order mess up but this girl was hungry.  After lunch, we shared a scoop of huckleberry ice cream from Sweet Peaks.  Sweet, creamy and dense, we were impressed by the quality of this homemade ice cream place.  They are a local chain with stores in Bigfork, Whitefish, Kalispell and Missoula.
