Happy Hour and Dessert in Capitol Hill

Happy Hour Street Tacos with Carne Asada and a Miami Vice from Poquitos.  Poquitos is located in Capitol Hill and they're serving up authentic Mexican cuisine and cocktails. Their happy hour deal is a good one- during Ocho hour, everything on the happy hour menu is just $8! I went with a Miami Vice, a classic Pina Colada with Strawberry. This blended cocktail was so fruity and delicious. To eat I had two Carne Asada Street Tacos and a Birria Poquitos Burrito. The Burrito was small and served with a side of Consommé sauce. Both food items were tasty and satisfying.  My husband also had some Street Tacos and a Margarita from the happy hour menu. My sons had a Cheese Quesadilla and beans and rice. Everyone enjoyed their dinner. I first visited Poquitos in 2012, also for happy hour, and I remembered liking it then, too. Peanut Butter-Pretzel Truffles

People have always asked me which I loved to eat more-sweet or salty.  Do I have to pick one?  The truth is, I love both, and together as one dessert or snack.  Usually after eating a bite of chocolate I then reach for a bite of Chex Mex or maybe a cracker or chip.  What can I say, the combination belongs together and you can't lose on the taste front.  That's why when I spotted this recipe yesterday using chocolate, peanut butter and pretzels, I had to make them.  Luckily, they only made about thirteen truffles, so my hubby and I don't have to gain three pounds each trying to polish them off.  Speaking of the word hubby, these truffles are like the ice cream, Ben and Jerry's Chubby Hubby.  If you've never had it, its chocolate and vanilla ice cream with pretzels and peanut butter.  Truffles are a cinch to make because most of them are no bake and they just need a little time to set up in the refrigerator.

I found the recipe here on Sweet Pea's Kitchen.  I didn't make any of my own adjustments, so just click on the link to find out how to make some Peanut Butter- Pretzel Truffles.
