A Visit to the Hello Kitty Cafe in Vancouver, BC
An adorable Hello Kitty cone with a Strawberry and Vanilla soft serve swirl!
My family and I took a trip to Vancouver, BC for two nights last week. Our first stop was the Hello Kitty Cafe! If you're a Hello Kitty fan like me, it doesn't get any more fun than this. Upon entering the store, you step into the pink world of all things Hello Kitty. There's amazing photo opps and tasty themed treats and drinks.
We tried two items, a soft serve ice cream served in the cutest cone, and a small cake- the Birthday Cake, covered in sprinkles. We all loved the ice cream but found the cake almost inedible. The sprinkles were too hard, and the frosting tasted like Cristco. The cake itself had no flavor. Give this cake a miss but try the ice cream for sure! Both items were super messy, so bring wipes with you!
There are two levels to the cafe, with some tables on the second floor. There are two Hello Kitty seats for photos that are great, one on each floor. I brought one of my Hello Kitty stuffies from home to pose with. They also sell some merch on the first floor. When we visited on a weekday afternoon, it wasn't too busy. When they first opened a couple of years ago, there were long lines outside. I always like waiting until the hype dies down to try a spot like this.
I love me a themed snack and novelty food items, so this spot was perfect for me! I've adored Hello Kitty since I was a kid, so this cafe healed my inner child and felt like a dream. Not a bad way to kick off our Vancouver trip!
