Happy Hour and Dessert in Capitol Hill

Happy Hour Street Tacos with Carne Asada and a Miami Vice from Poquitos.  Poquitos is located in Capitol Hill and they're serving up authentic Mexican cuisine and cocktails. Their happy hour deal is a good one- during Ocho hour, everything on the happy hour menu is just $8! I went with a Miami Vice, a classic Pina Colada with Strawberry. This blended cocktail was so fruity and delicious. To eat I had two Carne Asada Street Tacos and a Birria Poquitos Burrito. The Burrito was small and served with a side of Consommé sauce. Both food items were tasty and satisfying.  My husband also had some Street Tacos and a Margarita from the happy hour menu. My sons had a Cheese Quesadilla and beans and rice. Everyone enjoyed their dinner. I first visited Poquitos in 2012, also for happy hour, and I remembered liking it then, too. It was time for a meal there again.  For dessert, we walked about ten minutes west to  Voodoo Doughnut . The Seattle location opened late last ye...

Dinner at The Boathouse in Disney Springs

The iconic Duck Duck Razz cocktail from The Boathouse. This drink has Stoli Razberi, peach schnapps, Blue Curacao, lemon juice, and simple syrup.

One of Disney Spring's best restaurants is The Boathouse. They're known for their seafood and steak, sunset views of Lake Buena Vista, and their retro amphicars. The amphicars are classic cars that drive on land and then turn into a boat in the water. They offer tours if you want a one-of-a-kind experience. The Boathouse is an upscale spot, with nautical vibes, and great service.

During our rest day from the parks in Disney Springs, we had a dinner reservation at The Boathouse. My sister-in-law and her husband live in Florida, so they met up with us for dinner. I couldn't wait to try a Duck Duck Razz drink, since I saw it on YouTube a couple years ago. This blue cocktail has such a fun presentation, and is topped with a little yellow ducky you can keep. The flavor of the drink wowed me! It was so fruity, yet tart.

Our server brought us some soft and sweet rolls for our table. The rolls are special here since they're warm, buttery, and are coated in a really light cinnamon icing. To eat, I enjoyed some really fresh Tuna Poke with avocado, which was served with some crispy sesame chips for dipping. It had a sauce to pour over the Poke, but I forgot the name of it. The server also recommended a small side of steak to add to the tuna. I forgot what kind of steak it was, but it was perfectly cooked medium rare and was ultra smooth beef. The flavors of the beef, tuna, and avocado had me dreaming of the flavors for weeks.

After eating, the sun was setting over the lake, so I was able to go outside and get some nice photos. In the back of the restaurant is a dock, along with their bar. The diners who sit outside and at the bar can enjoy views of the water and even the cool hot air balloon you see at Disney Springs!

The Boathouse has its own giftshop, so we also bought some fun duck themed souvenirs. Then we walked outside and took in the evening Disney Springs vibes. Check out my last post Exploring Disney Springs to read where else we went after dinner.

It was so fun meeting up with our family and enjoying a delicious meal together at The Boathouse. I loved the look and vibes of this spot, but the food and drinks really shined here!
