A Disney Skyliner Ride to the Art of Animation Resort

This Disney resort is on the Skyliner, which means you can zip over to Hollywood Studios and Epcot on a gondola! This resort showcases the classic movies Cars, Little Mermaid, Finding Nemo, and Lion King. Their lobby has over 60 character renderings and sketches and is worth a look!

Riding the Skyline and visiting the Art of Animation resort made for the perfect mid-day break from our park day at Hollywood Studios. The Disney Skyliner is a gondola that takes you to four resorts. They are Riveria Resort, Pop Century, Art of Animation, and Caribbean Beach.

The ride from Hollywood Studios to the Caribbean Beach Resort took about 10 minutes, then we got on another Skyliner to Art of Animation, and this took around five minutes. The gondola goes over Hourglass Lake and is 60 feet high from the ground at maximum height. Like all of Disney's transportation, the Skyliner is free. I had friends visiting Orlando and they didn't have park tickets. They had so much fun riding the Skyliner and checking out the resorts.

The Art of Animation resort is a vibrant and colorful hotel, where the Disney storytelling comes to life. The sketches in the lobby are so fun to look at. We even spotted Chip, or was it Dale?! My son posed with him, and we captured some great shots. They have a huge arcade which my sons played in for a while. Thier food court, Landscape of Flavors, is large and filled with photos from the Cars movie. We walked through their gift shop, and I purchased an adorable mini Skyliner souvenir.

Then we walked around outside to look at their Cars area. This area is similar to Cars Land at Disney California Adventure. The Cars movies are some of our favorite Disney movies, so all three of us loved the theming in this area. At this resort, you can book suites and theme rooms. The photos we've seen of the Cars rooms look so fun! We have friends who have stayed in the Little Mermaid rooms and adored it. This resort also has the largest pool at the Disney World Resort.

Before we knew it, we were ready to hop back on the Skyliner and go back to Hollywood Studios. We loved checking out this resort and I'm happy we visited. Pop Century was super close by, and I wish we would have checked that resort out, too!
