Trying a Dubai Chocolate Bar

A Dubai Chocolate Bar from FDLove Chocolate. 

I finally got my hands on a Dubai Chocolate Bar! These bars are a global sensation and can be pretty hard to find. Imagine my surprise when I was walking through my local mall, Westfield Southcenter, and spotted them at a candy kiosk. My husband saw them, and I actually screamed. The bars are from FDLove, a chocolate company. Looking at their website, I can't find anything about the company, so I'm not sure if they're local or not. You can order the Dubai Chocolate from their website but spotting them at the mall was nice and exciting. I had been searching for the bars in Seattle but wasn't having any luck.

The Dubai Chocolate is special because they're thick Belgian chocolate bars with a Kunafah filling. Kunafah, a classic Middle Eastern dessert, is a shredded phyllo dough that's crunchy and buttery. I'd been seeing them everywhere on Instagram and I was curious how they tasted. When we arrived home, our family each had a few pieces. Everyone thought the bar was ten out of ten!
