Trying LeTao in Bellevue

A Mont Blanc Soft Serve from LeTao.

If you love trying new and unique desserts, then check out LeTao, located inside the Bravern in Bellevue. They're a Japanese bakery that features exquisite desserts. LeTao is known for its Fromage Double, which are small and delightful looking cheesecakes. These Japanese cheesecakes are the fluffy ones and are a little less sweet than American style cheesecakes.

When you enter the dessert shop, you'll see a long sweeping counter with delicately placed desserts such as cheesecakes and soft serve ice cream. I always like to try unique soft serve flavors, so I chose the Mont Blanc Soft Serve. Mont Blanc is chestnut puree and is shaped like the Mont Blanc Mountain in Europe. I had an amazing Mont Blanc dessert at Angelina in Paris. It was so rich and decadent it took several days to eat.

At LeTao I wasn't as impressed with their version over vanilla soft serve. The Mont Blanc wasn't very sweet and reminded me of bean paste. Not bad, but not overly tasty like I was imagining it to be. It did look great for the internet, but I wasn't a big fan overall. It was also quite small and pretty spendy at $12.99. The plain soft serve here is $6.99 for a small cup. They also have drinks like tea, coffee, and matcha.

I saw this spot being posted about on social media and it looked so incredible. I was a little let down, but I still enjoyed trying this unique soft serve!
