Happy Hour and Dessert in Capitol Hill

Happy Hour Street Tacos with Carne Asada and a Miami Vice from Poquitos.  Poquitos is located in Capitol Hill and they're serving up authentic Mexican cuisine and cocktails. Their happy hour deal is a good one- during Ocho hour, everything on the happy hour menu is just $8! I went with a Miami Vice, a classic Pina Colada with Strawberry. This blended cocktail was so fruity and delicious. To eat I had two Carne Asada Street Tacos and a Birria Poquitos Burrito. The Burrito was small and served with a side of Consommé sauce. Both food items were tasty and satisfying.  My husband also had some Street Tacos and a Margarita from the happy hour menu. My sons had a Cheese Quesadilla and beans and rice. Everyone enjoyed their dinner. I first visited Poquitos in 2012, also for happy hour, and I remembered liking it then, too. It was time for a meal there again.  For dessert, we walked about ten minutes west to  Voodoo Doughnut . The Seattle location opened late last ye...

Five Spots for Soft Serve in Seattle | Part 5

August is coming to an end and that means our hot days here in Seattle are numbered. That could either be a good or bad thing depending on if you have AC or not. But one thing we love to have on hot days? Ice cream! Especially eating some soft serve from a local spot. Summer's not over yet, so read below to find five places in Seattle to indulge in this frozen treat.

If you're looking for more than these five, I can recommend more places to go. Just type in 'soft serve' into the search button at the top right of my blog. This post is part 5, so not only is Seattle full of soft serve spots now, but I've visited quite a few of them. Enjoy!

Not only does Frankie and Jo's serve plant-based ice cream, but they also now have a soft serve version. See the post from my recent visit here where we tried their Vanilla Sun soft serve with Supercookie Dough sprinkled on top.

Spice Waala in Cap Hill serves world-class Indian Street Food and incredible soft serve. See my post from our lunch here where we tried this Coconut Cardamon soft serve.

Seattle waited a long time, but we finally got our own Milk Bar store. Located in Bellevue, it was worth the wait for the sweet and satisfying cookies, cakes, pie, and the soft serve. See my post here. Pictured is the Birthday Cake Latte soft serve.

Nothing tasted more nostalgic than this Orange Creamsicle cone with Orange Creamsicle soft serve! You can find this colorful cone at Bright Spot in Mt. Baker. See the post here

And last but not least is the soft serve from Treat Cookies in Burien. Their cookies are pure magic, and now they even have soft serve! When we visited, their current flavors were strawberry and vanilla, so we got a swirl of both along with Oreos sprinkled on top. See the post from our visit here
