Happy Hour and Dessert in Capitol Hill

Happy Hour Street Tacos with Carne Asada and a Miami Vice from Poquitos.  Poquitos is located in Capitol Hill and they're serving up authentic Mexican cuisine and cocktails. Their happy hour deal is a good one- during Ocho hour, everything on the happy hour menu is just $8! I went with a Miami Vice, a classic Pina Colada with Strawberry. This blended cocktail was so fruity and delicious. To eat I had two Carne Asada Street Tacos and a Birria Poquitos Burrito. The Burrito was small and served with a side of Consommé sauce. Both food items were tasty and satisfying.  My husband also had some Street Tacos and a Margarita from the happy hour menu. My sons had a Cheese Quesadilla and beans and rice. Everyone enjoyed their dinner. I first visited Poquitos in 2012, also for happy hour, and I remembered liking it then, too. A Visit to Pegasus Coffee House on Bainbridge Island

A Drumstick Donut from Pegasus Coffee House on Bainbridge Island. If I could go back in time and eat this donut again, I would.

I can't tell you how the coffee tastes at Pegasus Coffee House, but I can tell you the donuts are droolworthy and worth the calories! After a scenic and sunny ferry ride from Seattle to Bainbridge Island, we were ready for a snack. We checked out the ivy-covered Pegasus Coffee House. They've been open since 1980 and they're the original Pegasus Coffee House.

We just wanted something to nosh on, so we all got a donut. My son and I couldn't pass up the Drumstick donuts. Made to resemble a classic Drumstick cone that you find in the grocery store, these chocolate cake donuts were drizzled with chocolate and vanilla frosting and were topped with crushed peanuts. These were the kind of donuts you break your diet for, and the perfect treat to start your weekend getaway.

The inside of the coffee shop had lots of indoor and outdoor seating. My only complaint was if you wanted some tap water, you had to pay a quarter for the cup. After eating our snack, we headed back to the car to drive to Sequim. We stayed overnight with family, and we also checked out nearby Port Angeles.

Bainbridge Island is a notable spot for foodies in WA state. If you like interesting architecture and some really good donuts, don't miss this specialty coffee house!
