Where I ate breakfast, lunch, and dinner at Disneyland
Mickey Waffles with fruit and sausage from The Carnation Cafe on Main Street.
There's not many things more magical than starting your Disneyland day eating Mickey Waffles with a view of Main Street! We started our day having a late breakfast at The Carnation Cafe. I made a reservation in advance and we were seated right away, with a nice table for four outside. This was the place to people watch and get all the Disney vibes. The Mickey waffles were so cute and fun, and definitely delicious! The adult portion is larger and comes with fruit and your choice of bacon or sausage. The kid's waffles are smaller waffles, and oh so cute!
Lunch came around super-fast, but I made sure to mobile order our food a couple of hours before we wanted to eat. It was so easy to order using the Disneyland app on my phone. When we were ready, I just pressed the 'I'm here, prepare my order' button and a few minutes later I was able to walk in to Jolly Holiday Bakery and pick up our lunch. Jolly Holdiay is also located on Main St. The walk-up line was really long, so I definitely recommend mobile ordering all of your food in the parks. I even mobile ordered our snacks so we could get it quicker.
At the Jolly Holiday Bakery, they currently have some tasty Disney100 Celebration eats. We tried the Mr. Banks Shortbread Tart. This pretty treat is a chocolate and caramel ganache in a shortbread tart with a purple-colored white chocolate mousse, and is finished with sea salt, edible stars, and silver crunch pearls. My sons ate most of it, but I was able to get a couple of bites. It looked a lot sweeter than it tasted. The purple mousse on top was really light, and it has a nice texture from the stars and pearls.
Another dessert we tried at Jolly Holiday Bakery was the Mickey Raspberry Macaron. Don't skip the macarons in the Disney Parks. They're huge, perfectly made, and nice and sweet. This macaron is so cute since its Mickey shaped and the fresh raspberries also take it up a notch. But what did we eat for lunch that wasn't sweet? We ate the Beef Birria Toasted Cheese. Instead of Birria Tacos, they're in grilled cheese form. There was a lot of beef however, making this one hearty sandwich. My husband thought it was too dry, so he didn't help me eat this one. It comes with Consommé sauce, and that made the sandwich less dry to me.
We ate outside and it was hard to get a table since it was so busy. There was also a parade going by right when we sat down, but I was so excited by the food that I didn't get up and run to watch it. You walk a lot at Disney, so when mealtimes come around its time to grub.
There you have it! Our three meals during our Disneyland Day. My next post will be about the attractions, snacks, and overall scenery at Disneyland! We spent one day at Disneyland and one day at Disney California Adventure.
