Happy Hour and Dessert in Capitol Hill

Happy Hour Street Tacos with Carne Asada and a Miami Vice from Poquitos.  Poquitos is located in Capitol Hill and they're serving up authentic Mexican cuisine and cocktails. Their happy hour deal is a good one- during Ocho hour, everything on the happy hour menu is just $8! I went with a Miami Vice, a classic Pina Colada with Strawberry. This blended cocktail was so fruity and delicious. To eat I had two Carne Asada Street Tacos and a Birria Poquitos Burrito. The Burrito was small and served with a side of Consommé sauce. Both food items were tasty and satisfying.  My husband also had some Street Tacos and a Margarita from the happy hour menu. My sons had a Cheese Quesadilla and beans and rice. Everyone enjoyed their dinner. I first visited Poquitos in 2012, also for happy hour, and I remembered liking it then, too. It was time for a meal there again.  For dessert, we walked about ten minutes west to  Voodoo Doughnut . The Seattle location opened late last ye...

Checking out Fleurs De Ville Noel at Pacific Place

Another holiday event to check out in Seattle is Fleurs De Ville, a pop-up at Pacific Place. A floral celebration of the holiday season, fifteen local artists are featured. There are beautiful and fresh flower displays located all around Pacific Place. This is a free thing to do in downtown Seattle and you can even enter to win a shopping experience at Pacific Place if you vote on your favorite flower installation. Our parking was about to run out, otherwise my hubby and I would have entered to win.

We had a nice time walking around and checking out each installation. They also had some neat flower installations perfect for selfies. My hubby took one of me on a cool bench, surrounded by flowers. This would be the spot to bring your family or your friend group and get some memorable photos together! They keep the flowers looking fresh and I noticed some installations getting watered. The flowers and installations are so pretty and worth checking out if you're in downtown!

Fleurs De Ville Noel goes from December 8th-18th.

After walking around and getting back to our car, we were hungry for lunch. We stopped by Paseo on 1st Ave on our way back home. They had a fun holiday drink, a Mistletoe Margarita. It had cranberry juice and Tequila. It was garnished with a lime and a cute red reindeer! It was really tasty, too! Whenever I eat at Paseo I always get the Caribbean Roast Nachos. They have roasted pork, caramelized onions, cheddar cheese, pineapple, jalapeños, and sour cream.
