Trying the new summer menu at Shari's
Sheri's reached out and invited me to come and try some food from their new summer menu. I was also invited to bring a plus one, so I brought my son with me. Sheri's is a classic PNW spot that's been around since 1978. They serve comfort food and delicious pies in a relaxed atmosphere with friendly service! We went to their location in Tacoma for the event.
We sat at a big booth by the window, and they had cute decorations on our table for the tasting event. They had summertime decorations and a cup of hard candies to make it extra festive.
We were able to try one appetizer, a milkshake, two entrees, and a slice of pie. It was a lot of food on our table for the two of us! We brought home most of it for later. We had some Chicken Tenders, the Summertime Chicken Sandwich, the PB & Jammin' Pancakes, the Birthday Cake Shake, and a slice of the Marionberry Cheese Pie! We were also offered a drink when we sat down. They served me a Mimosa and my son got apple juice.
The Chicken Tenders came with fries and a side of ranch. Both were good and tasted standard to other spots. The Chicken Sandwich was really big and filled with fresh veggies like onion, pickles, tomatoes, and lettuce. There was also cheddar cheese on the chicken. My son was also able to order some Buttermilk Pancakes with bacon and hashbrowns. They pancakes was really cute and came in the shape of a bear.
My favorite dish was the PB & Jammin' Pancakes! This entree was unique and really tasty. If you like PB & J sandwiches, you'll love these pancakes. They're chocolate chip pancakes, topped with a strawberry jam, whipped cream, and chocolate chips. Then there's a Honey Peanut Butter syrup to pour on top. The whole thing was delicious and really filling.
Then there's that Birthday Cake shake. Sharable and over the top. It washed down those pancakes well. The shake was creamy and rich, and there's sprinkles on top took it up another notch. Then our pie arrived and my then, we were stuffed. I just took a couple of bites of this Marionberry Cheesecake. The sauce on top was fruity and tart and tasted really nice with the cheesecake.
