How to make Cheetos Mozzarella Sticks in the Air Fryer
Flamin' Hot Cheetos and Crunchy Cheetos Mozzarella Sticks, made in the Air Fryer!
My family and I love chips, especially Cheetos! We're also Mozzarella Stick fans, so why not combine the two? If you have an air fryer, then these are a cinch to make! There's a lot of recipes online for Cheetos Mozzarella Sticks, so I randomly chose one, then adapted it to my liking. The one I used is from here. But they missed the important step of freezing your cheese sticks before cooking them. This way, all of the cheese actually stays inside the breading. I looked at a few recipes, so luckily I knew this. You also need to remember to use parchment paper in your air fryer so melted cheese doesn't ooze everywhere. I also doubled the recipe I used, since it only called for four cheese sticks. We ended up making eight.
Our cheese sticks were, well, ultra cheesy! You really have to have a love of melted cheese and Cheetos to enjoy these. And don't forget some Ranch for dipping! Between the two kinds of Cheetos we used, our favorite was the spicey Flamin' Hot Mozz sticks! So spicy and so cheesy!
Cheetos Mozzarella Sticks
Ingredients:
8 Mozzarella Sticks
2 eggs
1 cup all purpose flour
2 Grab Bags of Cheetos, either the Crunchy or Flamin' Hot, or both
Directions:
Unwrap your cheese sticks and set aside. In a food processor, grind Cheetos until small. Set aside. In a bowl, crack two eggs and mix together. Pour your flour into another bowl. Take one cheese stick and coat it into the egg, then the flour, then the Cheetos mixture. Coat the cheese in the egg again, and then the Cheetos mixture one more time. Make sure the cheese stick is evenly coated. Set on a try and repeat with the remaining cheese sticks. Freeze the tray of cheese sticks for at least 30 minutes. Preheat air fryer to 370 degrees for 5 minutes. Line the basket with parchment paper and cook the cheese sticks for 4-5 minutes. Enjoy!
