Attending Seattle Boba Fest for National Bubble Tea Day
Vanilla Soft Serve with Brown Sugar Boba from Cold Plate Desserts.
Today is National Bubble Tea Day! I found the perfect thing to celebrate. I attended the first ever Boba Fest in Seattle. It was located in the U-District and put on by Udistrictseattle.com. There were 18 boba places who participated. That's a lot of boba spots located along University Avenue, or the "Ave" as the Seattle locals refer to it!
The first thing I did was go to the event tent, located on NE 43rd st, and grabbed a map. Then I had my photo taken at the photo booth. The first spot I went was Boba Gem. Unfortunately, it was really busy with a very long line. We ended up waiting for about an hour. There was a long line outside, and then again inside. I chose a Strawberry Green Tea with Cheese Foam. Since it was National Bubble Tea day and Boba Fest, they were offering free toppings. I chose Tapioca Pearls. The drink was fruity and refreshing, and I always love Cheese Foam! It gives the drink a Strawberry Cheesecake flavor. The pearls were nice and soft, and not overly chewy, which was good.
Our other stop was Cold Plate Desserts. We had to walk to the other end of the Ave, but that was fine since it was a nice spring day. We ended up waiting another hour there in line. I chose a Vanilla Soft Serve with Brown Sugar Boba and my son chose the Tuxedo sundae. That came with Vanilla Soft Serve, Oreo Sprinkles, Cornflakes, and was topped with an Oreo and two Strawberry Pocky Sticks. He was thrilled with his sundae! Mine also hit the spot. The ice cream had the perfect swirl. The flavor of the Brown Sugar Boba was perfect and tasted incredible with the ice cream. There was also some cornflakes on the bottom that gave the sundae such a nice crunch and texture.
By the time we got our soft serve, our feet were tired and we were ready to call it a day. But what a fun way to celebrate Bubble Tea Day!
