Happy Hour and Dessert in Capitol Hill

Happy Hour Street Tacos with Carne Asada and a Miami Vice from Poquitos. Poquitos is located in Capitol Hill and they're serving up authentic Mexican cuisine and cocktails. Their happy hour deal is a good one- during Ocho hour, everything on the happy hour menu is just $8! I went with a Miami Vice, a classic Pina Colada with Strawberry. This blended cocktail was so fruity and delicious. To eat I had two Carne Asada Street Tacos and a Birria Poquitos Burrito. The Burrito was small and served with a side of Consommé sauce. Both food items were tasty and satisfying. My husband also had some Street Tacos and a Margarita from the happy hour menu. My sons had a Cheese Quesadilla and beans and rice. Everyone enjoyed their dinner. I first visited Poquitos in 2012, also for happy hour, and I remembered liking it then, too. It was time for a meal there again. When I saw a new store selling mango desserts and drinks opened at Southcenter in Tukwila, I wanted to visit. Hui Lau Shan is a chain from Hong Kong that opened in the 1960's. They first began by selling traditional Chinese herbal tea. Their mangoes are imported from the Philippines. They sell a wide variety of desserts and drinks, and each one sounded so good and refreshing.

I chose a Mango drink topped with cheese foam. It was incredibly good and fresh. It tasted like mango cheesecake. The mangoes were delicious, and the cheese foam was sweet, salty, and creamy. This was dessert in a cup for sure! Perfect to drink while walking around the mall. The inside of the store was nice, clean, and bright. I'm loving how many dessert and drink options my local malls have now. Especially the Asian influence. We are getting to try some unique and tasty items we've never had before in the states.
