Trying Cronuts and Cruffins from Temple Pastries

The Hibiscus Cronuts from Temple Pastries.

Temple Pastries is a relatively new bakery in the Central District and they're still drawing lines on weekends. Why? The pastries are that good, and worth the wait. I placed a pre-order and still had to wait in line, but that's ok, this girl will wait for dessert. What drew me to Temple Pastries were their cruffins and cronuts. These pastries are a food lovers dream and something every foodie should try. I couldn't wait to try them!

I chose six pastries for my family and I. I bought two of the Hibiscus Cronuts, a Guava Cream Cheese Bicolor Croissant, a Cinnamon Cream Cheese Cruffin, a Sugared Cruffin, and a Banoffee Cruffin. They currently have several outdoor tables to enjoy your pastries and coffee. Inside, there are a couple of tables for when their indoor dining resumes. I took my box of treasures home and took a zillion photos of them. Then I cut them all in half and my family and I devoured them.

The first item we tried was the cronut. We loved the sweet, tart, and floral pink icing. A cronut is a cross between a croissant and a donut. The cronut part was soft, sweet, and really airy. Everything we tried was really light and super satisfying. A cruffin is a mix between a muffin and a croissant. The Sugared Cruffin was the most plain of the three cruffins since it didn't have a filling. The Cream Cheese one was really nice because of the sweet cream cheese filling. The Cruffin part was super flaky and buttery. We really enjoyed the Banoffee Cruffin because of how good the banana pudding filling was. The Guava croissant was really flaky and everything a croissant should be. The guava filling on the bottom was really fruity and flavorful.

My weekend food adventure to Temple Pastries was awesome. If I lived a little closer, I'd be a frequent customer. If you live in Seattle and haven't tried these kind of pastries, I'd recommend them! I believe this is the only spot in Seattle that sells cronuts and cruffins for now. Bon Appetit!

The beautiful interior of the bakery. I liked the high ceilings.

They have a barista ready to make you a coffee to pair with your goodies.

This was the selection around 11 am on a Saturday. Still pretty well stocked!

I didn't see a sign yet for Temple Pastries, but this is their exterior.

Back at home with my pastries!

The cronuts and croissant are looking ready to eat!

And the three cruffins look gorgeous, too!

The really pretty cronuts!

I love the way the inside of cronuts look. I couldn't help taking a lot of photos!

And lastly, the inside of the Banoffee Cruffin. Check out all of the banana pudding filling!
