A Pike Place Market Dessert Crawl
A perfect weekend afternoon for me would be a food tour of Pike Place Market. So after finishing up an easy and fast lunch at home, I realized we were out of dessert. So I gathered my family and we headed downtown to Pike Place Market. I didn't have any place in mind to go, I just wanted to wander around until I found something delicious to buy.
I was searching for sweets, so the first place we found was Three Girls Bakery. They've been opened in 1912 and they've been serving baked goods and sandwiches in the historic Pike Place Market ever since. They're display of treats looked too good to pass up. There was cookies galore, fudge brownies, muffins, croissants, and much more. My son chose a cute pink pig cookie and my other son picked a Ginger Molasses cookie. I chose a Walnut Brownie and a Chocolate Almond Croissant to share with my husband.
After taking some photos of our baked goods with the market in the background, we stood on the sidewalk and dug into our desserts. My sons liked their cookies. Both of my items were a little dry, so I only took a couple bites of each. I shared with my husband and my son, who lately has really developed a sweet tooth like me.
Then we hit up Bottega Italiana for some Gelato. We decided to share a cone. I let my son choose the flavor. He loves anything with mint, so he picked the Dark Mint in a waffle cone. Luckily for us, we got the last cone of the day. The Gelato was really creamy and dense and the mint flavor was really nice. Some of the other flavors they had were Tiramisu and Strawberry, and they also looked mouthwatering.
After eating some Gelato, we were ready to head back to our car. Two stops on our food crawl was just right for one day. A visit to Pike Place Market is always exciting and tasty!
