Lunch at Intermezzo Carmine
Arancini and an Old Fashioned cocktail from Intermezzo Carmine in Pioneer Square. |
For years we've driven by Intermezzo Carmine and wondered what it was. There's an outdoor fire pit and the name is pretty hidden. Today we were in Pioneer Square and happened to be parked in front. A quick Google search told us it was an Italian restaurant. So we decided to grab drinks and an appetizer for a Valentine's Day light lunch. We had already eaten a little at home before we headed downtown.
The interior was quite notable with a gleaming bar, unique light fixtures, and marble tabletops. The tables quickly filled up as we waited for out drinks. I had a Sparkling Rose and my husband had an Old Fashioned. My drink was so bubbly and crisp. Then we shared the Arancini- rice balls with cheese that are crispy on the outside. These were soft and I tasted goat cheese. And I'm a sucker for goat cheese so I enjoyed them. I liked the comfy banquets with huge pillows and the European feel right in the heart of Pioneer Square.
