Happy Hour and Dessert in Capitol Hill

  Happy Hour Street Tacos with Carne Asada and a Miami Vice from Poquitos.  Poquitos is located in Capitol Hill and they're serving up authentic Mexican cuisine and cocktails. Their happy hour deal is a good one- during Ocho hour, everything on the happy hour menu is just $8! I went with a Miami Vice, a classic Pina Colada with Strawberry. This blended cocktail was so fruity and delicious. To eat I had two Carne Asada Street Tacos and a Birria Poquitos Burrito. The Burrito was small and served with a side of Consommé sauce. Both food items were tasty and satisfying.  My husband also had some Street Tacos and a Margarita from the happy hour menu. My sons had a Cheese Quesadilla and beans and rice. Everyone enjoyed their dinner. I first visited Poquitos in 2012, also for happy hour, and I remembered liking it then, too. Dinner at Oak

Located in Seattle's Beacon Hill neighborhood is Oak, an all ages joint with awesome Chicken Sandwiches. They serve high quality beef and cage free chicken, but they also have vegan and vegetarian food. I started with a Sazerac Cocktail and my husband had a Manhattan. We shared the Herky's Fried Chicken Sandwich. This huge sandwich had Draper Valley Organic Chicken Thighs with their CBGB sauce and sliced pickles. We opted for a side salad instead of fries. The chicken was so thick and juicy. This may be one of the best chicken sandos in the city. 

Our sons shared the Chicken Tenders. These chicken strips were big and really tender. For dessert, our boys shared a vegan chocolate cupcake. I had a few bites of this massive cupcake and it was incredible. It was so soft and full of chocolate flavor, and there was a surprise vanilla frosting filling that tasted so good! This had to be one of the best cupcakes I've ever tried, and it was even vegan.
