Happy Hour and Dessert in Capitol Hill

  Happy Hour Street Tacos with Carne Asada and a Miami Vice from Poquitos.  Poquitos is located in Capitol Hill and they're serving up authentic Mexican cuisine and cocktails. Their happy hour deal is a good one- during Ocho hour, everything on the happy hour menu is just $8! I went with a Miami Vice, a classic Pina Colada with Strawberry. This blended cocktail was so fruity and delicious. To eat I had two Carne Asada Street Tacos and a Birria Poquitos Burrito. The Burrito was small and served with a side of Consommé sauce. Both food items were tasty and satisfying.  My husband also had some Street Tacos and a Margarita from the happy hour menu. My sons had a Cheese Quesadilla and beans and rice. Everyone enjoyed their dinner. I first visited Poquitos in 2012, also for happy hour, and I remembered liking it then, too. Boba Tea from Xing Fu Tang

A Brown Sugar Pearl Black Tea Latte from Xing Fu Tang in Vancouver, BC. 

During out stay in Vancouver, I had to get at least one boba tea. I chose Xing Fu Tang in downtown Vancouver. I went there because their tea sounded fresh and authentic. Xing Fu Tang imports their ingredients from Taiwan and have used the same formula for their drinks for decades. I'd heard good things about their tapioca pearls, too. Upon walking in I could see a huge pot of the pearls being stirred. They looked fresh and ready.

Luckily it wasn't busy and my drink was make right away. I chose a Brown Sugar Pearl Black Tea Latte. There were so many tapioca pearls! After taking some photos, I shook up my drink and took a sip. The Brown Sugar flavor was nice and the tapioca pearls had great texture and tasted on point. The tea was really refreshing and creamy.
