Happy Hour and Dessert in Capitol Hill

Happy Hour Street Tacos with Carne Asada and a Miami Vice from Poquitos.  Poquitos is located in Capitol Hill and they're serving up authentic Mexican cuisine and cocktails. Their happy hour deal is a good one- during Ocho hour, everything on the happy hour menu is just $8! I went with a Miami Vice, a classic Pina Colada with Strawberry. This blended cocktail was so fruity and delicious. To eat I had two Carne Asada Street Tacos and a Birria Poquitos Burrito. The Burrito was small and served with a side of Consommé sauce. Both food items were tasty and satisfying.  My husband also had some Street Tacos and a Margarita from the happy hour menu. My sons had a Cheese Quesadilla and beans and rice. Everyone enjoyed their dinner. I first visited Poquitos in 2012, also for happy hour, and I remembered liking it then, too. A Stay at Sutton Place Vancouver

Enjoying a Mai Tai at sunset from our balcony.

For our mid-winter break in Vancouver, BC we stayed two nights at Sutton Place in downtown. We stayed in the La Grande Residence tower and had a one bedroom suite. We were wowed by the size when we walked in. There was a kitchen, dining area, a nice sized bedroom, a living room with a couch that turns into a bed, one bathroom, and a balcony looking out over Burrard St.

We also enjoyed the hotel's amenities like the indoor pool, the onsite wine store, and the Gerard Lounge inside the Boulevard Kitchen and Oyster Bar.

The view of the suite upon entering. There were black and white photos of Paris on the walls.

In a perfect world I would have taken some photos before my kids put their stuff everywhere, but that's ok.

The living area looking toward the kitchen. A large counter with stools was the perfect spot for my kids to eat.

A balcony with a small table and chairs was just right for relaxing and taking in the downtown views.

My husband went downstairs to the Gerard Lounge and brought us back cocktails, a Manhattan for him and a Mai Tai for me.
