A Visit to Aberdeen Centre in Richmond, BC
After hanging out at Stanley Park, it was time to start heading back toward Seattle. We usually stop in Richmond to grab a late lunch first. This time we visited Aberdeen Centre, a three story mall filled to the brim with Asian food and shopping. The food court is mostly Asian food and I already knew what I wanted.
Saboten Japanese Cutlet serves Tonkatsu (deep fried pork) and is really popular. I really wanted to try their Pork Katsu Sandwich. Luckily there were no lines and I was able to get my food right away. The deep fried pork was really crispy and seasoned properly. It was a small portion so I wouldn't recommend sharing. The bread was soft and there was a nice sauce, too. This sandwich was really satisfying and it was fun to try something new.
For a little pick me up and something sweet, we checked out Spiritea, located on the first level. This tea spot was aesthetically pleasing and pretty fancy. The shop was made for Instagram and I was hoping the drinks would look and taste good, too. I went with the Mango Cloudtea. This colorful drink was very pretty and had a generous amount of cheese foam on top. It tasted just like Mango Cheesecake. The drink was very refreshing and delicious and I wish we had a Spirittea in Seattle. This isn't a boba tea place, they focus more on the quality of their handcrafted fruit teas. They also sell gorgeous desserts that look too good to eat. I purchased a Macaron for both my boys and I also got one for myself. We tried the Oreo one and it was the perfect little treat.
