Downtown Seattle at Christmastime
Christmas in Seattle is a wonderful time. There are many events and concerts to keep one busy the entire month of December. Two things we do every year is the Winter Train and Village at Seattle Center and the Gingerbread Village at the Sheridan Hotel. Both are free to check out and also kid friendly. And we always have to gaze upon the tall Christmas Tree in front of Westlake Center.
Our boys really liked the miniature winter village display at Seattle Center. There's also a small train that circles around the village. You can actually run the controls of the train and watch it circle around the track.
If you happen to be doing some Christmas Shopping inside Nordstrom's, there's a Molly Moon's ice cream vending machine across from the Nordstrom CafƩ. We shared a Union Coffee flavor. It was fun to choose our flavor and wait for our cold treat to drop down.
This year was the 26th year of the Gingerbread Village and the theme was "Welcome to Whoville". I really enjoyed the Dr. Seuss decorated gingerbread displays. I was happy we checked it out on a weekday afternoon because there was only a small crowd. On the weekends there's very long longs to view the displays.
