Dinner at Diamond Knot Ale House in Mukilteo, WA
After exploring the Mukilteo Lighthouse and playing at the playground, we had worked up an appetite. The area caters towards families so there were some great choices to dine. We chose Diamond Knot Brewery and Ale House because kids can make their own pizzas tableside. The rest of their menu looked tasty and they also offer a full bar.
The service ended up being prompt and friendly, and they were also accommodating to our boys. They're not loving pizza sauce at the moment, so the server was able to do their pizza with a butter brush instead, just how I make their pizza at home. Then the boys had a blast spreading on the toppings at the table. While they were making their pizza, my husband and I were sipping our cocktails. We each had a Pineapple Upside Down Cake drink. This refreshing and summery drink had bourbon, pineapple juice, and grenadine.
We each started with a side salad. The small bowl was packed with greens, olives, shaved parmesan, tomatoes, and onions. I ordered the Margherita Pizza and my husband had the Lamb Sliders. My pizza was too dry because their version was oil based and didn't have sauce. But the tomatoes were nice and fresh as was the basil. The pizza tasted good the next day at home, heated up with some tomato sauce. Then it was time for something sweet.
They also sell ice cream cones from a walk-up window and the line was long, it being almost summer and a beautiful day. They had Huckleberry ice cream, so we shared a scoop on a sugar cone. Their scoops were huge and one scoop of theirs is actually two. My sons each had a scoop of chocolate in a sugar cone. They were way to big of portions though so it would've been nice if they sold kid scoops. Then our time in Mukilteo was over, so we jumped in the car and headed back to Seattle.
