A Stay at Granville Island Hotel with Room Service from the Dockside Restaurant

We stayed at the Granville Island Hotel on our second night in Vancouver. Just like at the Auberge Hotel, we also had a nice view. The perspective was different, but it was still neat. The view was of False Creek and the buildings in Yaletown. It was also fun for our sons to watch the sailboats and the Aqua Busses making their way across False Creek.

The hotel's restaurant Dockside Restaurant looked really nice with an outdoor patio and panoramic views of Vancouver. Unfortunately, we were a little tired but were really hungry, and didn't feel like worrying if our boys would behave at the table. Room service to the rescue. The menu looked great and had just what we were craving. Pizza and salad for us and chicken strips and fries for our boys. The prices and the menu were the same as the restaurant and in fifteen minutes or so, our dinner arrived. It was really relaxing and the food tasted good, too. We had a Caesar salad and a Margherita Pizza and they hit the spot.

The hotel didn't offer a continental breakfast and we weren't proactive in getting any breakfast food ahead of time. Our boys like to eat breakfast as soon as they get up, so it was room service to the rescue again! Yeah, the room service saved our trip. We were feeling stressed about finding places to eat with the boys, and this made for a relaxing and tasty end to our trip. My husband had the Super Food Smashed Avocado Toast, I had the Banana Bread French Toast, and our sons shared the Pancakes with fresh fruit. All three breakfast dishes were amazing and filled us up.

Then we packed up our luggage and checked out. We had one more place to check out before we headed back to Seattle. It was time to blow off some steam at Queen Elizabeth Park.

The exterior of the Dockside Restaurant. Our boys loved this cool water fountain!
This Margherita Pizza was bomb! It had a thin crust with yellow and red tomatoes, basil, mozzarella cheese, and topped with a Balsamic Vinegar that added so much flavor.
The avocado toast was a nice surprise and priced decent, too. They use organic sourdough, watercress, manchego cheese, avocados, and lemon zest.
What kid doesn't love pancakes drizzled in syrup? Our boys loved their breakfast in the room and they polished these off fast!
My Banana Bread French Toast was a fun and unique breakfast dish. I love banana bread and I love French toast, so why not combine them? This was something I've been wanting to make at home and now I'm going to give it a go. I also enjoyed all of the fresh fruit!
