Happy Hour and Dessert in Capitol Hill

Happy Hour Street Tacos with Carne Asada and a Miami Vice from Poquitos.  Poquitos is located in Capitol Hill and they're serving up authentic Mexican cuisine and cocktails. Their happy hour deal is a good one- during Ocho hour, everything on the happy hour menu is just $8! I went with a Miami Vice, a classic Pina Colada with Strawberry. This blended cocktail was so fruity and delicious. To eat I had two Carne Asada Street Tacos and a Birria Poquitos Burrito. The Burrito was small and served with a side of Consommé sauce. Both food items were tasty and satisfying.  My husband also had some Street Tacos and a Margarita from the happy hour menu. My sons had a Cheese Quesadilla and beans and rice. Everyone enjoyed their dinner. I first visited Poquitos in 2012, also for happy hour, and I remembered liking it then, too. It was time for a meal there again.  For dessert, we walked about ten minutes west to  Voodoo Doughnut . The Seattle location opened late last ye...

Seaside Dining- 2016 Edition

Seaside, OR offers many choices for dining and luckily family-friendly restaurants are everywhere.  On our trip we decided to forgo anything too upscale because of our wild at times three year olds.   We still found many options and we all had great experiences and good food, too.
Pig n' Pancake in Seaside offers many different food options for any palette.  They are a local chain with locations aloing the Oregon Coast.  I always enjoyed eating there when I was young.   Breakfast is available all day and the kids menu also has a lot of choices.   We enjoyed the gift shop and that entertained our boys while we waited for our dinner.
My boys shared the mini turkey corn dogs and the side of mac and cheese.
I had breakfast for dinner- the Strawberry Crepes!
For lunch one day, we met up with friends at Bigfoot's Steakhouse.  We all loved the decorations and the Bigfoot's that greeted us at the entrance and inside the restaurant.  It was a cozy place with a nice, warm fireplace, which we sat next to.
My husband had the Salmon Burger, I had the Bigfoot Burger with cheese and Guacamole, and our boys had the grilled cheese with smiley face fries.
New Garden's a place we ate at last year and really enjoyed.  The Chinese food is on point and we ordered extra so we'd have leftovers the next day.
A bottle of Pale Ale for my husband and a glass of Pinot Noir for me was just the thing.
We had three dishes at New Garden-Broccoli Beef, Orange Chicken, and Honey Chicken.
Fultano's is another Oregon chain that serves pizza.  We had slices before we hit the arcade, which Fultano's is right next to.
The Boardwalk Restaurant located inside the Shilo In on the Promenade, is the perfect spot to people watch and look at the ocean while you dine.  The interior is nice and the menu is more upscale but they're still kid-friendly.
A glass of Pinot Noir pairs well with our view.
I ordered the beef nachos which ended up being a huge platter that I came now where close to finishing!
My husband had a cup of tomato bisque and the salmon mousse, pictured here, which arrived artfully displayed.
