The Seattle Great Wheel

Seattle now has a huge ferris wheel on the Waterfront.  The Great Wheel is set to open next weekend but we went yesterday to check it out.

The Great Wheel adds so much to the ever changing and evolving Seattle Skyline.  A skyline I've always loved and which I think is one of the best in the world.  The ferris wheel is designed like the one on London, The London Eye, and is 175 feet tall.  The Seattle Great Wheel is one of the biggest wheels in the country.

Each person riding will sit in a gondola and see views of Seattle, Elliot Bay, Mt. Rainer and the Olympic Mountains.

The Great Wheel was designed my Hal Griffith, a business man who dreamed of building a ferris wheel on the Seattle Waterfront for thirty years.  He finally is getting to see his dream realized.

The price to ride will be $8.50 for kids 11 and under and $13.00 for ages 12 and up.
