In May 2009 my husband I and took a red eye flight to NYC. It was our first visit to the big apple and the East Coast. New York City is the largest city in the United States and is referred to as the city that never sleeps. I'm a big city person and loved all the hustle and bustle and of course, all the incredible architecture. We visited Central Park, an oasis in the middle of the concrete jungle, went to the top of the Empire State Building for a view of the whole city, saw Times Square at night and basically did all the fun touristy things you have to do on your first visit. We got to check out the city for five days.

Beautiful Central Park. |

I loved all the sleek and modern buildings. |

Took a break from all the sightseeing at a deli and had some New York Style Cheesecake.
I took a ride on the Staten Island Ferry to get a closer look of the Statue of Liberty. |

Inside Grand Central Station. A very busy place to be, everyone is running to get from one place to the next. We ate at Michael Jordan's Steakhouse which is inside Grand Central. We had a view of all the people while we ate our steak. |

The high ceilings inside the restaurant. |

We also ate at Serendipity 3, on the Upper East Side of Manhattan. The movie Serendipity was filmed here and I think we sat at the same table they sat at in the movie. They are known for their Frozen Hot Chocolate but I ordered a Cheeseburger and an Hot Fudge Sundae.

A visit to NYC wouldn't be complete without going to Magnolia Bakery for a cupcake. Their cupcakes are heavily frosted, just like I like them. There was nowhere to eat inside, so I gobbled mine down while we headed back to the subway.

As we were walking though Greenwich Village looking for Magnolia Bakery, I came across this scene. New York City was awesome! |
